We have been researching gyros and have come up with an amazing recipe to serve on campuses, including a grilled vegan version!
This delicious snack is served on Naan bread with veggies and tzatziki sauces and served buffet style with pre-sliced meat, (not on the rotisserie) and served individually to students.
A gyro or gyros is a Greek dish made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. It is derived from beef & lamb. In Greece it is now most often pork or chicken, while a mixture of beef and lamb is common in the US and other countries. Our version is made with beef & lamb, however roasted chick peas are an excellent vegan option. (eggplant & tofu are other options)
