Does the endless lapping of waves pull you in? Or is it the quiet of new-fallen snow? Or maybe even the lull of a mountain stream with leaves falling gently around you? It is proven that everyone has a “location” that makes them feel at peace and calm. In this spot, your students can be present, rest in the here and now, and be fully engaged in the moment.
Meditainment enhances that zen location. It’s an effective way to clear the mind, promote emotional health, lengthen attention spans, and control anxiety. This practice uses a variety of techniques – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Which as we all know, provides a much better state for learning, absorbing, and connecting.
Your students will have the opportunity to choose 4 different sessions from 15 different location Journeys. Through a voting process, your students will determine which journeys they would like to take throughout the day. Each session lasts 20 minutes, and when spaced throughout the day, gives ample opportunities for your students to be able to attend one of the journeys.
The act of meditation has many well-known psychological benefits including stress reduction, relaxation, recharge, clarity of thought, as well as improved mood, and generally being better equipped to deal with life’s ups and downs.
