The word in most Native American languages for Dream Catcher is the same word used for “spider”. (Hence the web-like base of the ever popular dream catcher.) Students create their own dream catcher, which is said to protect their creator from nightmares.
With this novelty, we provide a hand wrapped leather base, which has already been pre-webbed by hand. The students have their choice of size (and even a heart shape) to individualize their creation. The students start with the base “web” already prepared and are able to focus on their design. It can be easy to get caught up in the tedium of tying knots for a web! We provide all the supplies to decorate and embellish, along with a knowledgeable staff to facilitate the event.
A true nod to the indigenous people, and a beautiful way to honor this Native American art form.
Now available as DIY kits to go, students can make dream catchers from the comfort of their home!
